Mandela Day at King Edward Hospital
Mam’Gcina Mhlophe at the King Edward VIII Hospital Children’s Ward on Mandela Day – 18th July 2016
Gcinamasiko Arts and Heritage Trust visited the King Edward VIII Hospital Childrens ward on Mandela Day, 18th July 2016. Mam’Gcina Mhlophe told stories that brought joy to the children, everyone sang and enjoyed songs from her Imilolozelo CD. The children also received storybooks in both Zulu and English, crayons and coloring in books from Mam’Gcina. All the children, their parents and the nursing staff, had fun and enthusiastically enjoyed the sweet treats that they received. Tata Mandela would have been proud of the way the Gcinamasiko Arts and Heritage Trust fulfilled their 67 minutes whilst also ensuring that the children remembered the legacy that Tata Mandela left behind for all of us to carry forward.
