Dr. Gcina Mhlophe, Executive Director of Gcinamasiko Arts and Heritage Trust opened the Robinhood Foundation’s Entrepreneurs 4 Africa Conference that was on the 12th and 13th of July 2016, at City Hill Church, Hillcrest with a powerful prayer after the attending delegates were welcomed to the conference by an entertaining performance by Qadasi, a local Maskandi artist.

Dr. Mhlophe continued to entertain the audience with an inspiring story entitled “You have the Power.” An extensive list of informative speakers enlightened the audience with practical yet pivotal advice on different aspects of entrepreneurship.

The conference programme and speakers consisted of the following engaging topics :-

Day 1. : Tuesday – 12th July 2016

  • The Business Plan presented by Akhona Mahlati
  • The Five Year Mark presented by Mike Sawyer
  • Identifying Opportunities presented by Eric Tocknell
  • Managing Money presented by Marianne Voster
  • Sell Yourself To Success presented by Grant Gavin
  • Marketing On A Budget presented by Cindy Norcott

The first day was also interspersed with a performance from Hannah Norcott, a local young talent and lucky draw prizes such laptops and printers that were won at the end of the day.

 

Day 2. : Wednesday – 13th July 2016

The day started with a wonderful Business Opportunity Expo that completely captivated the delegate’s attention.

  • An Ethical South Africa Starts With Me presented by Brian Adams
  • Costing And Pricing presented by Grant Vernon
  • What’s My Style presented by Hilton Stander
  • My Business Story presented by Sibongiseni Mazibuko
  • What It Takes To Be A Successful Entrepreneur presented by Cindy Norcott
  • Nomfundo Molefe enthralled all the delegates with her candid words.

The last day was also interspersed with a performance from Hannah Norcott and another local performer, Holly Wasserfall, who had the audience dancing along to her songs. This was followed by more lucky draw prizes that were won at the end of the day.
